Contouring & Highlighting

Hello dolls! I have very exciting news for all of you! I finally mastered contouring & highlighting. (Yes, I know, I am 21 years old & make up & I do not go hand in hand. But, I must say, this technique is essential for slimming the face and it looks gorgeous in pictures.) For those of you who still haven't gotten it down yet I have some inspirational words: Practice makes perfect. If I can do it without knowing the basics of the art of make up, so can you. Just watch a lot of YouTube videos you'll eventually get the hang of it.

Fall Fur

Hello dolls! First post in a couple of months. I know. I'm still in the process of dropping a few pounds. Any who, I did a little shopping a couple weeks ago at Forever21.com and I got a couple new things that you'll see throughout these next few weeks.  (P.S: I was freezing while taking these pics. It was so cold. Can you tell?) Enjoy!

Update!

Hello dolls! Once again I have abandoned my blog. Womp. Lately I haven't been feeling like myself, if that makes any sense. I've gained so much weight and just going through a lot at the moment. On the bright side, I told myself I wasn't going to let those things bring me down. I have decided to do something about my weight gain along with the help of my friend Carlos. My goal is set to lose the 30 lbs I have gained by December. Sounds like a lot of work, but I am willing to accept the challenge. I am very excited to see the results and feel great, happy, and healthy. I will be posting every now and then so, stay tuned!

OOTD- Botanical Garden

Hello dolls! So I visited NY once more (I should just move there since I'm ALWAYS there) and I had the opportunity to visit the botanical garden.  The place was beautiful! I recommend you  go if you're given the chance. On another page...here's my outfit breakdown:
Denim jacket: Forever 21
Skirt: Forever 21
Crop top: I originally got it from Nasty Gal but I found it on Aliexpress for way cheaper. I don't think it's worth what Nasty Gal was charging for it.
Bag: Victoria's Secret (in store but I tagged one online)
Phone case: Mini in the Box

Shorts, Shorts, & MORE Shorts!

Hello dolls! I feel like I have abandoned my blog. Shame on me. Any who, I haven't been up to much just working A LOT and haven't had time to update my blog...talk about legal slavery! But now I am back in the game and with an interesting topic, I hope. I was trying on a couple of shorts the other day and was having a hard time deciding on a pair; they were either too tight on my thighs and loose on my waist or the other way around. So I did some research on the types of shorts that flatter different body shapes. DISCLAIMER: One can wear whatever their heart desire. These are simply suggestions.

RECTANGLE/ RULER SHAPE:
People with this body shape are usually very thin with long legs (hence why they're referred as rectangle shape). Wild prints draw attention to a thin Ruler’s lower half, while a shorter length makes legs look even longer. Your thin, straight-up-and-down frame lends itself to a fun, shorter style. Plus, the pleats, stripes and subtle flare on any pair of shorts will make you look absolutely fabulous.

Blue Graffiti Print Zipper Pockets Shorts
HOURGLASS SHAPE:
According to popular demand, this is one of the preferred body types (ity biy waist & that round thang in yo face!); you can wear practically ANYTHING. This is my body shape and although many people consider me blessed for it unfortunately I don't see it that way. It's really hard for me to find bottoms because of my thighs, but if you don't have that thigh issue like me.. I applaud you. Put the spotlight on that narrow middle by drawing attention to it with a wide-tab waist. The higher cuts keep your shorts from gaping where you’re tiniest, and the looser cut gives your curves a little breathing room.

Navy Zipper Loose Shorts
INVERTED TRIANGLE:
People with this body shape have long legs, broad shoulders, usually athletic. Those long, athletic legs deserve to take the spotlight, so show them off in a pair of colorful, trendy Bermuda shorts. Colors help draw eyes down to your best assets.

TRIANGLE/ PEAR SHAPE:
This body shape would be the opposite of the inverted triangle. Instead of broad shoulders and a narrow hips, the person has narrow shoulders and wider hips. Triangles know the A-line skirt is their friend, so it makes perfect sense that an A-line short would also fit right in with their summer wardrobe. This style is belted and on the higher-waisted side to emphasize your smaller waist, but it also flares at the hips to provide ample room where it’s needed. For a Triangle’s curvier hips and thighs, opt for a classic, longer relaxed fit in a solid color.

CIRCLE/ APPLE SHAPE:
Last but not least, is the circle or apple shape. For the circles/apples one of your best features are your thin legs and ankles. Circle shapes who want to highlight their stems would be wise to opt for Bermuda shorts.

NYC Weekend Summary

Hello dolls! So I lied; Kym and I didn't go to the beach. We read reviews on it and found out it was quite um... ratchet. (Plus it was going to rain anyways and it was kind of chilly for the beach.) Instead we went to tour the free attractions of NYC since we didn't have enough to spend. Talk about poor people problems... We went to this awesome park in the Meat Packing District called High Line. We were lucky enough to witness a commercial for DSW being filmed around there and the security guards kept trying to hit on us. After that we went on the Staten Island Ferry and saw the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and the magnificent NYC skyline. I had an emotional experience at ground zero when we visited the WTC Memorial followed by an exhausting train ride home. Had an amazing day, better than any old beach. This is going to be my longest blogpost yet and I know it's not fashion related, but I felt the need to share my amazing experience with you guys. Enjoy! <3

OOTD- Central Park

Hello dolls! This is my second day in the city and I'm so excited because we're going to the beach today (I will be blogging about that later). Didn't want to take the spotlight from the birthday girl yesterday so I waited until today to post up my outfit. The items here I got on sale. The sandals, which I'm in love with btw, I picked up yesterday for $5.99 because the ones I had on needed to rest in peace. My dress I got years ago at Macy's for only $8 in a clearance rack. My wristlet is from when I worked at express. But of course, I did link similar items for those of you who like the look. Without further a do... here's the outfit breakdown:
Dress: Macy's
Sandals: Strawberry's

P.s. Please disregard my toesies.. I know I'm in desperate need of a pedi. ;]

Out & About =D

Once again... Hello dolls! New York; concrete jungle where dreams are made of there's nothing you can't do! Finally made it, although I must say it was quite an interesting trip. While waiting for the Metro North train to arrive at the station, I witnessed an actual crime scene on Thursday (who knew that Connecticut was active?). Anywho, I spent the day today out and about with my cousin Kym for her birthday. First stop Central Park. Then, took her out to eat in Korea town at Miss Korea BBQ. We had boneless ribs and it was amazeballs. Totally obsessed. After that we picked up a couple treats from a Korean bakery and went on to explore 42nd St for the millionth time. Had a great time today.. Happy Birthday Kym! (IG: @kymberlyleger)
